I know, the title is a little bit extra. I just couldn’t think of anything better and since the peachy knit sweater I am wearing in the photos is partly made of cashmere I came up with this wordplay. Anyway, this piece is my latest and also last purchase of the month. The next season is around the corner and the shops already display their fall/winter collection, even though it is technically still too warm for all the knits and coats. But knowing German weather this could change in a heartbeat and I can already see myself hunting for a winter jacket because my 16 other ones are just not doing it for me anymore. You know how it goes. Until then, I need to save my money for one last vacation this year. My mother and I are going to Cyprus and I can’t wait to be back at the beach before Uni starts in October.
I don’t know what happened to the German summer, but apparently there is none. What we get is maximum three days of kind of good weather and then about 1 week of pouring rain and crazy humidity in return. The number one question when planning a shoot besides who is going to be the photographer is what is the weather is going to be like. It’s basically about finding that perfect time slot of the day where it is warm, but not too hot, obviously not rainy and ideally cloudy so that you can open your eyes and don’t have to fuss around with the camera settings too much. Luckily, for this one we were able to seize the last day of good conditions before it is back to a grey, unpredictable sky.
Some of you might have noticed that I have started to name my posts after lyrics or song title. I think I have mentioned this before, but I am a song text addict and sometimes listen to a song over and over again just for one line. So whenever I can find something that matches a color or a theme of a look I use it as the title of my post, almost like a little hint or an allusion. This one though, is a little bit harder to guess since it is referring to the background story of this outfit. Initially, I had planned to finally – after announcing it multiple times – style my Rihanna X Fenty platform flats. Well, turned out I can’t walk in those shoes more than a mile. I tried everything. With padding, without padding, with padding and band aids, padding made of leather, padding made of gel, I even glued a piece of felt into the back of the shoe. Nothing helps.
